The Music Room

Image
A new trend that is slowly creeping up within the capital city of GOD's own country, Trivandrum is the introduction of music rooms. Most of the house for sale in Kerala has dedicated a room only for the music enthusiasts. When I speak about a music room I speak of two different possibilities One room is where you can actually sit, relax and enjoy your favorite tracks. The room would be constructed with the right acoustics so as to make the overall experience all the more better. The second option is having a room that is actually meant to record your sounds, an actual recording studio miniaturized within your home so as to create your own tracks. With the latest in digital sound technology, several applications and devices have popped up that would allow us to make our own music even more efficiently and faster. The latter, of course, is more expensive to set-up as it requires a certain degree of detail to its finishing.

The Parkour Building

Image
A trend that very recently started gaining in popularity in our humble state is Parkour. Certain movies did promote this physical activity and it might have started off something like a revolution in the state. Very recently I happened to have the fortune of meeting certain members who have taken up the sport in God's own country. Being in the field of design my attraction very quickly diverted to their proposal of a Parkour building that aims to include a variety of obstacles that can stimulate the actual adrenaline of Parkour while doing so in a controlled environment. The idea is a plan that they hope to bring about and is extremely enthusiastic about the same being implemented all across the nation. They are however extremely concerned about how well the citizens of the state would accept this project. The arrival of this structure would truly create ripples and would indeed be worthy of the title of real estate news in Kerala.

The Directional Differences

Image
One of the most interesting stories that I had heard recently was how our forefathers had advised us to build homes where certain rooms had to be facing certain directions. Many people doubt this because the same room according to different states had to be placed in different directions. While we heavily criticize and doubt these practices we need to be aware that there is an absolute science as to why Vastu was followed. Our state has a very unique geographical situation. We have hills on one side and a tropical beach on the other and therefore our climate and weather conditions are heavily influenced thanks to these two phenomena. Another factor that we need to understand is that during those times we did not have structures that can completely withstand the effects that nature throws at us and they had a very good idea where the rains would come from and which ones are more destructive than the rest and therefore planned to build the houses in a manner that would accommodat

The Science behind Vastu

Image
Very recently during one of our school gatherings, a very heated argument erupted on the topic of vastu. For those who are not aware of Vastu is the study of the science of a home and there are many sceptics. My friend told me the actual scientific reason of how sleeping in a particular direction can actually be bad for us. The earth has a magnetic moment around it and that is why we have a North Pole and a South Pole. Our brains produce tiny amounts of magnetic waves due to the electric signal discharges that are happening in the nerve synapses of the brain. When we align our heads in a direction that is opposing this natural flow of the magnetic waves of the earth it would cause as to have slight discomfort. The longer we sleep in that same position this discomfort increases. We start losing sleep, get irritated much faster, short temper increases and all these factors will affect your overall performance in any sector. The most astounding thing is that our forefathers even

The Online Trend

Image
One thing that has fascinated me is that in the capital city of God's own country, Trivandrum over 90% of the population who are engaging in any sort of business has once dealt their hand in real estate. I was actually surprised to know about this little fact. It is because the real estate field is something that has always been so close to this community that it has become some sort of hobby. There used to be a time where the real estate was indeed a note-worthy profession to speak about but with the introduction of new age technology and digital marketing at its peak many if not all prefer finding their dream home through a plethora of choices and these online platforms provide an extra benefit of verifying their data as well. It only makes sense to try your luck at extremely transparent dealing from the online platforms rather than trust individual agents that are in this field only to fill their pockets.

The Greenery Alternative

Image
It goes without saying that planting a tree in one's own backyard has immense benefits but in the City, the chance of this dream being a reality is very slim and as a result, this is not a popular trend in the capital city of GOD's own country Trivandrum . However, this is nothing to be disheartened about and by no means mean that we can’t sustain greenery. We just have to think of alternatives. With the simple use of rods and wires attached in our needed geometrical proportions, we can get creepers to grow along with a particular design and thereby having a roof with natural green design to it. The creepers can grow through nearly any climate and all they need is water and they will always grow in the direction that is most easy for them. The best practice would be on the terrace where it can also act like a design which will instantaneously catch the attention of any and all wanderers. This is why certain houses for rent in Kerala , list this as one of their features

The House Get-up

Image
There is always a common sight that can always be seen if you happen to drive enough in the capital city of God's own country, Trivandrum . This is this sight of a building that is well illuminated probably for a function which is mostly marriage related. Growing up and even now, to a small extent I am still extremely fascinated at this house grooming session. It is like the house is getting ready for its big day and it gets a fresh coat of painting and is extremely well decorated with lights, flowers, carpets and additional roofing in certain cases. Most of the houses in Kerala have already gone through this one-day face-lift and even in this 21st century people still prefer to conduct certain marriage functions within the comforts of their own home rather than switch to an auditorium. It, of course, makes perfect sense in a way. If you have a beautiful home then it only makes sense that you showcase it to the public in all its glory during one of the most important dat

The Irregular Plot

Image
Everyone wishes to have a square plot for their dream home. Some are willing to sacrifice on rectangular plots but beyond these two shapes, the citizens of God's own country cannot tolerate any other boundary shape. If truth be told I too found a lot of logical reasons why someone would prefer a regular shaped plot. But very recently I had a chance to visit a rather irregular shaped house. Don't let your thoughts run wild it is still categorized in the polygonal sector and has a shape similar to two rectangles placed 90 degrees to each other on the left-hand side. Very similar to an L-shaped figure. And this house has been constructed very beautifully and the architect had made cent per cent use of this irregularity when it came to the arrangement of the rooms. Even the interior of this household has been extremely magnificently done. I truly wish more houses for sale in Kerala start denouncing their craving for regular shaped projects and try more unique designs.

The Population Density

Image
The city circle of Trivandrum is extremely densely populated. There is hardly a comparison between the total population that lives within the city and those who live outside it. The city folk would outnumber the village folk 5:1 and this is with the knowledge that the total area of Trivandrum outside the city circle is nearly three times that of within. If you are walking through the Kazhakootam stretch which is the home place of Technopark, Trivandrum which is the largest IT Park in Asia then you can find at least one house for rent or one PG for rent near Technopark board in all the states within a good two-kilometre radius around the structure. Such is the extent of the matters that have reached the capital city of GOD’s own Country due to the alarming increase of population density. The upcoming Vizhinjam project and Technocity will solve this crisis as even though they would bring even more people to these shores, it will also ensure satellite cities, especially in these

Ways to Combat Space in a Kitchen

Image
Small kitchens are always a challenge and one can effectively combat this by making yourself follow certain small tips. The first thing to know is there is always more room or you can always create extra space even if it seems impossible. The use of 'over the sink' covers and cutting boards can help effectively increase your workspace. Fold-up tables are also now being made popular nowadays for the exact same reason that people are living under very little spacing. The wall above the stove can be the ideal spot to hang pots, utensils and other pans. You can double the refrigerator as a storage space for any sort of magnetic holders or racks. The effective use of lighting also helps in getting a feeling of more space. The right light in the right angles can help to create a first-hand illusion of more space. This lighting scheme is now being most efficiently used in most of the houses for sale in Kerala

The Good Neighbour

Image
I could speak on days describing all the several reasons why the capital city of God's own country, Trivandrum is simply an amazing place to live in. Starting from the sun-kissed beaches, the lush green forests, never-ending hill ranges, the soft water present; the less polluted cities so on and so forth. But something that is indeed lacking and there is absolutely no reason to deny it is our association with our neighbours.   Very rarely is there any sort of meaningful conversation with one's neighbours. If you happen to be an apartment resident then it could be that you might not even know the name of your neighbour and he might have been staying there for well over a year. These are not tall tales but actuals that I have had the fortune of hearing. For some reason, I have noticed that hesitation of this humble state to go out of their way to talk to another. Some call it ego, others call it shyness but the root of the matter is that we have dangerously low associa

The Picture Collage Trend

Image
On a personal note, a very impressive interior design trend that has not yet reached the shows of the capital city of God's own country, Trivandrum is the idea of photo collages in your bedroom. Having worked in the interior design field I have noticed that it is the youngsters that prefer this trend and by youngsters, I refer to the early thirties were digital cameras and images where only upcoming and hard copy photos were still treasured. Therefore it is this crowd that I have seen that fully makes use of this trend.   There are several homes that I have been to where I have felt that a photo collage would have been extremely ideal. Not to mention, it is a very inexpensive way to give that classy feel to your home. I would preach all my readers irrespective of your age group to try to incorporate one in your own home. In fact, I want this to be the new real estate news in Kerala.
