The House Get-up

There is always a common sight that can always be seen if you happen to drive enough in the capital city of God's own country, Trivandrum. This is this sight of a building that is well illuminated probably for a function which is mostly marriage related. Growing up and even now, to a small extent I am still extremely fascinated at this house grooming session. It is like the house is getting ready for its big day and it gets a fresh coat of painting and is extremely well decorated with lights, flowers, carpets and additional roofing in certain cases.

Most of the houses in Kerala have already gone through this one-day face-lift and even in this 21st century people still prefer to conduct certain marriage functions within the comforts of their own home rather than switch to an auditorium. It, of course, makes perfect sense in a way. If you have a beautiful home then it only makes sense that you showcase it to the public in all its glory during one of the most important dates in your life.
