The Directional Differences

One of the most interesting stories that I had heard recently was how our forefathers had advised us to build homes where certain rooms had to be facing certain directions. Many people doubt this because the same room according to different states had to be placed in different directions. While we heavily criticize and doubt these practices we need to be aware that there is an absolute science as to why Vastu was followed.

Our state has a very unique geographical situation. We have hills on one side and a tropical beach on the other and therefore our climate and weather conditions are heavily influenced thanks to these two phenomena. Another factor that we need to understand is that during those times we did not have structures that can completely withstand the effects that nature throws at us and they had a very good idea where the rains would come from and which ones are more destructive than the rest and therefore planned to build the houses in a manner that would accommodate for nature’s destruction.

This is why different places have different directional positions for different rooms and nowadays most of the houses for sale in Kerala have designed the houses that satisfy the Vastu criteria.
